Georgia Kimpel Gresham, 71, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015, at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center, in Mt. Vernon.

She was born May 5, 1944, in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of Reader and Polly (Hutchison) Spencer. On February 19, 2011, she married Gene Gresham, and he survives in Mt. Vernon.

She worked as a Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for 30 years before her retirement, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

In addition to her husband, Gene Gresham, she is survived by one son, David Kimpel, Jr.; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five brothers, Kenny, Donnie, Joe, Danny, and Mark Spencer; and three sisters, Glenna, Sheila, and Linda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reader and Polly Spencer; her first husband, David Kimpel, Sr.; one daughter, Michelle; two sons, Paul and Michael Kimpel; and three granddaughters, Lacey, Timbra and Shelly Kimpel.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gresham will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Jack Lucas officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the hour of service, Monday, at the church. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2015, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
