(CARLYLE, IL) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Carlyle Lake/Kaskaskia River Project, will hold five public workshops regarding Master Plan updates for Carlyle Lake and the Kaskaskia River Project. The public is invited to attend these workshops which will provide information on the Master Plan update process and afford the opportunity to receive input from the public about their issues and concerns regarding the future management of Carlyle Lake and the Kaskaskia River Project. The Master Plans address outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship activities occurring on lands owned and easement lands managed by the Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake and the Kaskaskia River Project. The public workshops will be held using an “open house” format, allowing time for participants to review specific information about the Master Plan update process, ask questions and provide written comments to the Corps of Engineers staff attending the meeting. The first meeting will be held in Carlyle on Thursday December 3, 2015, 2:30 – 5:30 pm at the Mariners Village Resort Conference Center. There will be subsequent meetings in Vandalia on December 8th, in Germantown on January 12th, in Red Bud on January 13th, and in Chester on January 14th.
