(East St. Louis, IL) — A Metro East man will serve three years in prison for using personal information from stolen mail to apply for credit cards. Jeffrey Brown was sentenced yesterday in federal court in East St. Louis. Prosecutors say the Collinsville man made credit card purchases and then the merchandise was pawned to support his drug and gambling addiction. Brown was also ordered to repay close to 20-thousand dollars.
