(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council proceeded with a meeting Monday evening in spite of not being able to take action on any agenda items. The meeting notice and agenda was not posted at the meeting site as required by the Open Meetings Act and was also not posted on the City of Mt. Vernon website. The meeting was held as required, but the Council could not and would not take action on agenda items. They will all be tabled for later meetings.
