(VIENNA, IL) — Law enforcement agencies in Southern Illinois are warning the public of a recent spate of debit card thefts from card cloning. Both Johnson County and Vienna City Police say they have received multiple reports of local residents who have had their debit card information used to make purchases at area Wal-Mart Stores. Although no details have been released on exactly how the suspects have cloned the cards or who specifically may be in danger of having their information stolen, authorities are asking area residents to monitor their bank accounts for unusual activity, or unauthorized purchases, and to report any suspicious activity noticed.
