Charles R. Easton, 73, of Mt. Vernon, passed away November 12, 2015, at his home.

He was born March 7, 1942, in Nokomis, Illinois, the son of Ira and Gladys (Huff) Easton. He graduated from Woodlawn High School, and served his country as an electronic technician in both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force, before retiring.

Mr. Easton is survived by one brother, Bill Easton of Port Charlotte, Florida; foster brothers Fred Harvey of Arcola, Illinois, and John Harvey of Junction City, Illinois; four sisters, Joan Cameron of Orlando, Florida, Cora Nelson of Fort Meyers, Florida, Karen Smith of Ava, Illinois, and Joyce Cotton of Sorento, Illinois; and foster sisters Margaret Morgan of Dix, Illinois and Faye Johnson of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Gladys Easton; foster parents John and Ada Harvey; one son, Andrew G. Easton; brothers Tom Easton, Sr., Virgil Easton, and Howard Easton; sisters Mary Bobernick and Betty Marfio; and foster sisters Nellie Houghland and Cora Phelps.

A Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Easton will be held Monday, November 16, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Boyd Cemetery, with Chaplain Ernie Collins officiating. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #141 of Mt. Vernon.
