Santa Claus, once again, will be stopping by the Mt. Vernon Parks and Recreation Department this December. Children under the age of 8 may pick up a form at the Veterans Park Office beginning Monday, November 16th. In order to receive a call from Jolly St. Nick all letters must be mailed back to the park office or dropped into Santa’s North Pole Express Mail Box located outside the park office at 800 S. 27th Street by noon on Monday, December 7th.

This is the 8th year that Santa has been available to stop into the Park Office to place his calls.

“Santa’s made some time for us again this year,” said Recreation Coordinator Wes Plummer. “This is another chance for him to check his list for the good boys and girls.”

Santa will be placing his calls on Thursday, December 17, 2015 between 6:00–8:00 PM.

“Santa doesn’t make any promises. He just says he will do his best, but his sleigh gets pretty full and he has a lot of stops,” added Plummer.

Santa would like to be able to reassure the children of his Christmas Eve plans, so please be sure that the parents at home know to expect Santa’s call. Please call the Parks & Recreation Office at 242-6890 for more information. Forms will also be available on the city web site at MtVernon.com.
