Mary Patricia Chiapelli age 55, of Waltonville, IL died 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mary Pat was born February 3, 1960 in Arlington Heights, Illinois the daughter of Charles and Patricia (Music) Rohde. She married Steven Noble Chiapelli on January 11, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada and he survives in Waltonville.

Mrs. Chiapelli had worked at JC Penney, Papa Joes Grocery and later worked for the Jefferson County Housing Authority until failing health. She was a member of the St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon.
Mary Pat is survived by her husband, Steve Chiapelli of Waltonville; mother, Patricia Rohde of Foley, Alabama; daughter, Tara Rose Chiapelli of Dallas, Texas; son, Clayton Andrew Chiapelli and wife Candace of Waltonville; brother, Chuck Rohde and wife Brenda of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters, Mary Ellen Cusumano and husband Rex of Mt. Vernon and Mary Jo Sweeting and husband Tom of Foley, Alabama; granddaughter, Briahnna Chiapelli of Waltonville; mother-in-law, Sharon Chiapelli of Waltonville; and also a sister-in-law, Debbie Chiapelli of Mt. Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Rohde and father-in-law, Noble Chiapelli.

Memorial Mass for Mary Pat Chiapelli will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

For those who wish memorials may be made to the St. Mary School in Mt. Vernon and will be accepted at the funeral home.
