(MT. VERNON, IL) — A 24-year-old Mt. Vernon man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County Court to 2-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after his probation from a 2013 drug conviction was revoked. Bryan Woods pleaded guilty just weeks after he was arrested and formally charged in 2013 with Class 3 felony possession of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for 15 days served and to 30 months probation. His probation was revoked on two other occasions, once in 2013 and again in 2014, and was sentenced to increasing time in the Marion County Jail, and his probation was extended. Tuesday, however, his guilty plea to a probation violation resulted in a 2-year prison sentence. He also owes near $1,900 in fines and fees, and will have to serve 1-year supervised release upon completion of his prison sentence.
