Governor Announces Agreements, Changes In Springfield

(Springfield, IL) — It’s the most positive step Illinois has seen in months. Governor Bruce Rauner yesterday announced three huge agreements. The governor says he’s reversing his cuts to child care, that he’s come to terms with the AFL-CIO on some unemployment benefit changes, and that he’s resending the legislature a plan to figure out who really needs state benefits. The moves come after months of stalemate on just about every issue at the statehouse.
