(SALEM, IL) — A 41-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail after he was arrested Friday by Centralia police for alleged possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church. Centralia police first questioned Tyrone Hill when he was reportedly found in the laundry room of the Knight’s In without permission of the motel. Police reports say officers found a baggie in Hill’s room that contained 80 other baggies, some of which contained a white powdery residue. The additionally found two other small baggies containing a white powdery substance hidden in Hill’s socks, with the substance field testing positive for heroin. Hill was taken to the Marion County Jail on the delivery charge, as well as for possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and setting of bail.
