(Belleville, IL) — The president of the levee board that serves the Metro-East is being asked to resign because of an unreported conflict of interest. The “News-Democrat” reports that Andy Economy failed to indicate on his economic interest statements that the auto body shop he owns did repairs for vehicles owned by the flood protection district. Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan will ask the board to remove Economy after finding that his shop did 33-thousand-dollars worth of work on levee district vehicles over a three-year period.
