(Belleville, IL) — A federal grant means St. Clair County will have more resources to fight domestic violence and sexual abuse. The 600-thousand-dollar Department of Justice grant will fund a new Special Victims Unit in St. Clair County. That will include three more prosecutors, two deputies, a probation officer and six victim advocates. State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly says the unit will allow the county to address all facets of the problems of domestic violence and sexual assault.
