(East St. Louis, IL) — Six-thousand East St. Louis students are expected back in the classroom this morning after a nearly month-long teachers’ strike. School Superintendent Arthur Culver says the district will make up the 21 days that were lost during the walkout. He says the school year will be extended into late June. Last Friday, the school district and its 400 teachers agreed on a four-year deal to end the strike.
