Hastert Enters Guilty Plea In Hush Money Case

(Chicago, IL) — Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert will be sentenced in February after pleading guilty in a federal hush money case. Hastert admitted in Chicago yesterday to evading currency reporting requirements on multiple bank withdrawals. He is accused of using the money to cover up past sexual misconduct during his time as a teacher and coach in Yorkville. His plea agreement recommends a sentence up to six months behind bars.
