Illinois Removes Quarantine Trying To Limit Emerald Ash Borer

(SPRINGFIELD, IL) — Illinois is no longer under quarantine to limit the spread of the emerald ash borer beetle. The Department of Agriculture says Illinois won’t restrict the movement of any firewood within the state, saying the pest is too widespread to continue to regulate. A 2015 survey showed that 60 out of 102 counties had been affected by the invasive beetle.
