(Cahokia, IL) — The owner of a Cahokia apartment complex is blaming a grease fire for causing a blaze that heavily damaged a portion of the complex. Fire officials say the flames were noticed yesterday afternoon at the Cooper Apartments. One person was treated for a minor burn. At least one of the other buildings took on external damage with melted siding from the heat. Only four of the eight units in the damaged structure had people living in them.
