Fire Warnings Up For Parts Of Illinois

(Champaign, IL) — Wildfires aren’t just confined to the western United States; parts of Illinois are currently under high risk of fire. The National Weather Service has issued red-flag fire warnings for today for nearly all of the area north of Interstate 72 because of low humidity coupled with winds up to 25-miles per hour that have already sparked fires in several farm fields. People are asked to postpone the burning of brush or trash until later this week when the humidity is expected to rise and winds are expected to fall.
