(East St. Louis, IL) — As the teachers strike in East St. Louis enters its 13th day, some students are transferring out of the school district. There are six thousand students who attend schools in the district. Twenty-one students are no longer there and some of them have moved on to other schools in nearby districts. The East St. Louis School District receives money from the state of Illinois for every student. With the loss of 21 students, state funding has already been lost.
