(CARRIER MILLS, IL) — A Carrier Mills woman died in a one-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Saline County. Illinois State Police say just before 4:30, 43-year-old Nicole M. Wright of Marion was driving her SUV east on Route 13 just west of Harco Road when for unknown reasons; she drifted from the driving lane to the passing lane, overcorrected and left the south side of the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the SUV struck a ditch and overturned. A passenger in Wright’s vehicle, 64-year-old Lesa M. Grover, of Carrier Mills, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Saline County Coroner’s Office. Wright was airlifted from the crash scene to an Evansville hospital. A juvenile boy, who was riding in the front passenger seat, was initially transported by ambulance to an area hospital before being transferred to an Evansville hospital. Wright was cited for improper lane usage.
