(Belleville, IL) — A car accident is being blamed for causing a power outage in southwestern Illinois. Ameren says a vehicle hit a power pole yesterday morning, knocking out the electricity for over six-thousand customers in the Collinsville and Caseyville areas. Service was restored by the afternoon.
