(East St. Louis, IL) — School is canceled for East St. Louis students today as the teachers continue to strike. Contract talks failed once again yesterday. Illinois Teachers Federation official Dave Cummerford says the school district did not bring any new ideas to the bargaining table. It’s the eleventh school day of the walkout. Teachers are expected to march at district headquarters sometime today.
