(MT. VERNON, IL) — On Tuesday at 11:50 a.m., a vehicle driven by 30 year old Summer Richardson of McLeansboro collided at the intersection of 10th Street and Jordan with a vehicle driven by 19 year old Jared Hatton of Bonnie. According to police reports, the Hatton vehicle was westbound in the 900 block of Jordan and proceeded into the intersection after receiving a green light right of way. Witness reports state that the Richardson vehicle was stopped at the red light on 10th street facing southbound when suddenly the vehicle revved and entered the intersection striking the Hatton vehicle, causing it to spin and hit a parked vehicle on Jordan. After the collision, it was observed that Richardson was having a seizure and that the engine of her vehicle was still revving. Both the Richardson and Hatton vehicles were towed from the scene. Richardson was cited for three offenses in the incident.
