JALC trustees accept Dreith resignation;Hire Benton’s Ron House as interim president

CARTERVILLE – The John A. Logan College Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of President Mike Dreith by a 5-2 vote at a special meeting of the board Wednesday evening. Terms of the resignation agreement were not disclosed. Both Dreith and the board agreed that it is in each party’s best interest to accept the resignation, allowing Dreith to pursue other professional opportunities. The board then voted to hire Dr. Ron House of Benton as the interim president, replacing Dreith, by the same 5-2 count. House most recently (2010-2014) served as Director of Land Management with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, including time as Executive Director of the World Shooting Complex in Sparta.
