ANNA, Ill. (AP) — One of the oldest structures in the Southern Illinois community of Anna is up for sale. The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports that the Keyhole House — named for the distinctive keyhole-shaped window in the front — is being sold after area businessman Jason Short bought it at auction and restored it. Short says he is happy he could restore the house for the “next generation.” The house was built in the 1890s for Harlan P. Tuthill, a banker who once fought for the Union Army during the Civil War. The house stayed in his family until 1970 and then after that fell into disrepair. The asking price for the 2,600 square foot house is $199,000.
