(Belleville, IL) — A Granite City man has been sentenced to 24-years in prison for the extensive beating last year that left his girlfriend’s infant son with broken ribs and a fractured skull. Prosecutors said that the numerous injuries inflicted on the seven-week-old named Owen came from a series of beatings by 21-year-old Kamryn Kerr. The child’s mother, Ashley Wethington, is also facing charges in the case, but is expected to be granted leniency because she testified as a prosecution witness. The child is now in a foster home.
