(MT. VERNON, IL) — Authorities have released the identity of a 24-year-old man taken into custody last week after deputies responded to the area of the old abandoned Dix Lumber yard, in reference to a female screaming that she was being raped. Justin Tyme Wiliiams was arrested after a brief foot chase and altercation with deputies, who learned after their arrival on the scene that a black male had attacked the female and threatened her with a gun. The female said her assailant fled the area on foot. Due to the close proximity Rome school was placed on lockdown. Deputies, Detectives, MVPD, and ISP quickly arrived on scene and was able to apprehend the subject. The subject fought with Deputies but was taken into custody. The subject was transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center, the exact charges are pending interviews. Sheriff Travis Allen says that since being in the Jefferson County Jail, Williams’ offenses have not stopped. Allen notes the subject has tried to harm himself and sent a Correctional Officer to the hospital. Williams has also reportedly caused damage to a cell. Williams is being held on the following charges Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Battery, Obstructing Justice, two counts of Aggravated Battery to an Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Criminal Damage to Property. Williams is being held on $180,000 bond.
