House Committee Advances Spending Plan Bill

(Springfield, IL) — A bill that would fund key human service programs during the state budget crisis keeps moving its way through the Illinois legislature. A state House committee approved a three-point-eight-billion-dollar spending plan yesterday that would pay for emergency food assistance, mental health services and even lottery payouts. It now moves to the full House. Even if it is passes, Governor Rauner has threatened to veto it.
