(BENTON, IL) — You can get rid of your expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs Saturday during the Ninth Annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This program allows you to dispose of medications in a safe and easy way. It’s also a good way to keep your medications from getting into the wrong hands and abusing them and keep you from polluting the environment because waste water treatment plants and septic systems are not designed to treat pharmaceutical waste. There will be several places around southern Illinois participating in this event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
