MT. VERNON — The last Mt. Vernon Township High School Homecoming Parade will be held in downtown on Thursday October 1st at 2:40 p.m. The theme for the parade is “March to Mount Olympus” which ties in to the Greek Week homecoming theme and is hosted by the MVTHS Student Council. The parade is held annually on the Thursday of Homecoming Week features school clubs, the homecoming court, and the marching band. The parade route will go from the high school down Seventh Street to Main Street down to 10th Street to Casey Avenue for residents to watch. Students will watch the parade from the high school campus and Seventh Street. This is likely the last downtown Homecoming parade with the impending move to the new MVTHS location due next fall.
