State Budget Impasse Stalls U Of I Budget

(Urbana, IL) — No state budget means no school budget at the University of Illinois. Comptroller Walter Knorr Thursday told university trustees that the school will keep operating under the continuing appropriation it’s been using since July. Knorr also told trustees that because of the budget impasse, State Comptroller Leslie Munger is not processing bills from the university for money owed by the state, a figure Knorr says grows by 75-million-dollars a month.
