(Springfield, IL) — Attendance may be down, but profits are up at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand. The State Journal Register reports the fair made money on concerts this year. In all, the Fair cleared almost 38-thousand dollars after expenses. That’s not a lot, but the Fair is not designed to be a money maker. The State Fair saw a huge drop in attendance this year, though organizers say that might be because the old attendance numbers were a bit inflated.
