(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council will hold their meeting this evening due to the Labor Day holiday. Among items on the agenda, the Council will hear bid results for the Jordan Street parking lot asphalt overlay project and the ADA renovations for the Aquatic Zoo. The City Manager will present the capital projects report as well request permission for closure of streets for upcoming downtown events. The city attorney will give a reading of an ordinance granting a conditional use for property for a funeral home crematory, and the mayor will announce a pair of appointments to the Minority Affairs and Human Relations Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission respectively. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
