(Du Quoin, IL) — Former Illinois Lieutenant Governor Sheila Simon wants back into politics. She announced yesterday at the Du Quoin State Fair that she is running for the state senate in Illinois’ 58th District. The seat is currently be held by Republican Senator David Luechtefeld who announced he won’t be seeking re-election next year. Simon served as lieutenant governor from 2011 until this year.
