Authorities Hoping Video Could Provide Evidence In Officer’s Killing

(Fox Lake, IL) — Authorities in northern Illinois are hoping home surveillance video turned in by a Fox Lake resident can provide key evidence in their search for the three suspects believed to have gunned down a veteran police officer. Lake County Major Crimes Task Force Commander George Filenko called the video “significant.” The footage has been turned over to the Department of Homeland Security for analysis. Filenko also confirmed that a gun had been found at the crime scene but wouldn’t say who it belonged to or if it had been fired.
