Arrest Made In Benton School Threat

(BENTON, IL) — Benton Police say a 17-year-old has been arrested for making threats against Benton High School. Officials told WSIL-TV an online message and a handwritten message found at the school Thursday made threats toward faculty and students. A police investigation led officers to the teen, who was arrested for disorderly conduct for threats against a school. School was canceled Friday at the high school and the grade school as a precaution. School will be out Monday for Labor Day. Classes resume Tuesday.
