Some State Fair Bills Face Delayed Payments

(Springfield, IL) — With the snip of a ribbon, Governor Bruce Rauner officially opened the Illinois State Fair but dodged questions about how the bills for the fair will be paid. The ongoing budget deadlock means that some vendors working at the fairgrounds doing things like cleaning up each night will have to wait to get their money. Rauner’s office is sponsoring the “Illinois Turnaround Tent” at the fair asking people to indicate which pieces of his pro-business, anti-union agenda are most important to them.
