Fewer Visitors At Springfield Historical Sites

(Springfield, IL) — Though there was an increase in tourism across the state last year, fewer people have visited the historic sites in Springfield so far this year. Wet weather and the uncertainty from the state budget impasse are cited as reasons for the decline in visitors to places like the Lincoln Tomb and the Vachel Lindsay House. The two sites that have seen an increase are the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the
Lincoln home.
