HARRISBURG, Ill. (AP) — A southern Illinois woman missing for nine days has been found in a thicket of woods. The Southern Illinoisan reports 50-year-old Roberta Wallace of Carrier Mills was found Tuesday after her niece, Dawn Hill, rallied a group of about 30 volunteers to search for her. A friend of Wallace, Paula Patterson, says she and another volunteer found the woman lying in a ditch about two hours after the search began. Emergency crews brought Wallace out of the woods with an all-terrain vehicle. She was transported to the Harrisburg Medical Center about a mile away from where she was found. Her medical condition was not immediately available. Family members were seen hugging and crying after the woman was found. Wallace was reported missing after last being seen July 19.
