(CARTERVILLE, IL) — The death toll in a traffic accident last week now stands at two, after an infant involved in the crash died from his injuries. The mother of 3-month-old Isiah Carter Allen McGee says he was pronounced dead early Friday morning. The family has decided to donate his organs. The crash happened Wednesday afternoon. Illinois State Police say 20-year-old Jeremy McGee was southbound on Samuel when he failed to yield the right of way, causing a black Tahoe to crash into his passenger side. A passenger in McGee’s Impala, 31-year-old David Lyerla, was pronounced dead at the scene. McGee’s son, Isiah, was in the backseat. Both Isiah and Jeremy were flown to hospitals. Jeremy McGee of Marion was charged Thursday afternoon with possession of between 2.5 and 10 grams of cannabis. He’s also been cited for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
