(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — One person died and another was injured following an accident involving a motorcycle and a tractor hauling a hay bailer Saturday in Franklin County. Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler says a 911 call was called into the West Frankfort Dispatch at 9:05 p.m. regarding the accident. It happened just south of the intersection of Route 37 and Country Club Road in West Frankfort. Two people were riding on the motorcycle and were injured. When emergency personnel arrived, they found the man, who was driving the motorcycle, with multiple injuries. He was flown to an Evansville hospital. His passenger, a woman, was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the tractor was not hurt. Illinois State Police is investigating. Leffler says an autopsy on the woman will happen this afternoon. He says per the family’s request, no names will be released until after the autopsy is done.
