(Carbondale, IL) — Big changes are taking place on the Southern Illinois University campus. Demolition has started on nine different buildings on campus. Crews started with the buildings on Elizabeth Street. They have been vacant for years and were becoming eyesores. Demolition is expected to take about a month.
