State Senate To Vote on Temporary Budget This Week

(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Senate is expected to sign off on a temporary state budget this week, but that might not matter. Governor Bruce Rauner has said he wants a full state budget. Without a year-long spending plan, state employees may miss payday this week. There are conflicting rulings from two different judges as to whether the state can pay workers without a budget. The Senate is scheduled to return to Springfield on Tuesday.
