According to reports, around 9:30 Friday morning, 74-year-old Rudolf Clark of East U.S. 50 had slowed to make a left turn into a drive when an unknown semi locked up his brakes behind him. Clark attempted to make the turn and struck a westbound pickup driven by 47-year-old Randy Hawkins of Salem. After being struck by Clark’s vehicle, Hawkins’ truck went off the right side of the road, across the ditch and driveway, and came to rest in a yard. Marion County EMS transported Clark to Salem Township Hospital, while Hawkins and a 12-year-old passenger in his vehicle were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
