(MCLEANSBORO, IL) — A 36-year-old Mt. Vernon man was sentenced in Hamilton County Court Thursday to 7 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to the lesser of three felonies against him. Neal Colclasure had been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, criminal sexual assault and aggravated domestic battery. He pleaded guilty to the aggravated domestic battery charge and was sentenced to 7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. While held last month in the Jefferson County Jail on a separate domestic battery case, Colclasure was served with the Hamilton County warrant that led to his guilty plea and sentence. According to court documents, Colclasure allegedly committed sexual acts with a family member who was under the age of 18 between Jan. 1 and Oct. 8, 2013. Colclasure also allegedly choked the family member in question on Oct. 7, 2013.
