Man Sentenced For Murdering U of I Student

(Champaign, IL) — A Champaign man won’t be getting out of prison anytime soon after pleading guilty to murdering a University of Illinois student. “The Champaign News-Gazette” reports Reginald Scott was sentenced yesterday to 55-years behind bars in Champaign County Court. Scott pleaded guilty in May to the first-degree murder of Vicente Mundo. Authorities say Mundo was shot to death in January while attempting to sell drugs to Scott and Daniel Gonzalez of Cicero. Gonzalez is also facing murder charges. His case is still being determined.
