(Murphysboro, IL) — The murder trial of a Elkville man accused of killing his girlfriend’s two-year-old is underway. The prosecution brought witnesses to the stand on Tuesday in the case against Jarrod Rudder in the Jackson County Courthouse. Police arrested the defendant in 2012 for the murder of two-year-old Michael Pulliam. He allegedly swung the toddler by the arm, which caused him to hit a lamp and wall with his head. The child suffered a brain hemorrhage and several broken bones, before he died.
