Cairo, IL– Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a shooting death in Cairo, IL that occurred on Friday, June 12, 2015 at approximately 9:25 P.M. Preliminary investigative details indicate the suspect, Marquad J. Harris, an 18 year old male of Cairo, IL shot Christopher L. Nelson, a 34 year old male of Cairo. The homicide occurred at 602 Jefferson Avenue in Cairo, IL. Nelson was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. The investigation continues.
