WEST CITY – West City Mayor Charles Cockrum says he resigning as the village’s mayor due to family reasons. Cockrum says he will be calling a special meeting for the board to accept his resignation and appoint his replacement. It’s not known at this time as to when this meeting will take place. Cockrum says the transition should be smooth and believes the village is in a place where someone can easily take over as mayor. Cockrum says he still has plans to volunteer and help out where he can in the community.
