(BENTON, IL) — A 23-year-old man turned himself in to Franklin County authorities Wednesday, after fleeing from Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies the previous day. Jefferson County authorities put out an alert Tuesday, seeking information regarding the whereabouts of David M. Ronkowski, who reportedly fled from deputies while at Comprehensive Connections, a community organization offering mental health, substance abuse and vocational services located on Highway 37. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced late Wednesday afternoon that Ronkowski had turned himself in to Franklin County authorities. It’s unclear what, if any charges he may be facing, or why he initially fled from deputies Tuesday.
